Grateful Citizen Hands Out $5,000 in $20's to Soldiers and Families

Jim Johnson, a real estate developer from Dallas, was seen handing out with his son $5,000 in $20's to soldiers and their families at Wal Mart in Kileen, Texas. Kileen is the home of Fort Hood and is about 130 southwest of Dallas.

Mr. Johnson held a sign that said "grateful citizen". Johnson said " I just wanted to say thank you for your service" as he handed out the monetary gifts. "We're safe and secure because of you".

Johnson said in a story in last Thursday's Kileen Daily Herald, that he and his son Matt drove to Kileen in the hopes of meeting and shaking the hands of many soldiers or their families as possible.

Johnson said, "We all have ways to give back to these families that don't complain and serve". "It's a tough life, and I'm so grateful with what they do".

He promised to come back next year and bring some friends.
