U2's Bono awarded British knighthood:
  • Irish rocker Bono (aka Paul Hewson) was awarded a British knighthood on Thursday. Bono was qouted as saying "you have permission to call me anything you want - except sir, all right? Lord of lords, your demigodness, that'll do".

Zogby: Rudy Giuliani Leads GOP Field in Iowa:

  • The "Nation Mayor" leads the Republican field among Iowa party faithful according to a recent Zoby poll. Among those between the age 18-29 Giuliani leads with 31%, followed by Rommey with 23% and McCain with 22 %. Among 65 and older age group "The Mayor" and McCain are tied at 17 % followed by Rommey.

Texas Aggies and Gillispie Have A Verbal Agreement:

  • The Houston Chronicles reports that Texas A&M and mens basketball coach have a verbal agreement that would pay the coach $2 mil annually. This will make him the highest paid coach in the Big 12.

Tornado swarm kills four in three states:

  • The Associated Press reports that "a massive spring storm spawned dozens of tornadoes from the Rockies to the Plains, killing at least four people in three states, including a woman who was flung into a tree by a twister as wide as two football field. Sixty-five tornadoes were reported late Wednesday in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska, the National Weather Service said." (see the attached video)
