Lance Armstrong Awarded a Fourth Straight AP Athlete Honor
Lance Armstrong is awarded a fourth straight Male Athlete of the Year Award by Associated Press sports writers on Wednesday. This was in recognition of his seventh straight Tour De France win.
Armstrong is the only athlete to be selected for the award four times since the inception of the honor in 1931. The Texan received 30 out of the 83 votes. Reggie Bush of the USC Trojans came in second receiving 23 votes.
"It's nice to win," Armstrong said. "I'll never win again". Armstrong has now retired from professional cycling. "I may have to take up golf and take on Tiger" commented Armstrong. You know I bet he could.
