Political Correctness Run Amok

Political Correctness in America today is totally out of control. I am tried of the increasing Orwellian society that our liberal friends are imposing on all of us. The tolerance of the left is nothing more than tyranny of intolerance. Offend any group that they view as disadvantaged or victimized and every effort will be made to censor or condemn the guilty party. There are however certain groups that does not fall under the left’s protection. By all means “make fun of” or criticize white males, Christians, southerners and black Republicans.

Remember when Harry Belafonte referred to Colin Powell as house help serving under his white master, President Bush. Our friends on the left did not call for sanctions against Mr. Belafonte. After all he was criticizing a black man who had sold his soul to those evil Republicans.

Another example of the liberal duplicity occurred recently at the University of Wisconsin. The administration at that university told a resident assistant that he could not hold a Bible study for dorm residents because students would become reluctant to approach him with their problems. The same administration praised another resident assistant for showing the “Vagina Monologues”. Those Christian ideas are too hostile to other students and out of the mainstream.

Recently at Amherst Regional High, Amherst New Hampshire the school administration decided to use the term ninth graders instead of freshman in all school documents and announcements. According to Assistant Principal Marta Guevara, who sponsored the change, the decision to move away from the term ”freshman” came as a result of a production of the “Vagina Monologues” two years ago. Guevara said the school want to make students aware of “possible misogynistic, oppressive or non-inclusive language." Does she really think students care? Get in touch lady.

The Washington Post reported that a high school band invited to play at the Peach Bowl has been forbidden from playing a Charlie Daniels song because it cross the line between church and state. The band wanted to play Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”. A local resident complained that the song was an insertion of faith and should not be allowed. The band director pulled the song.

The above are examples how Politically Correctness has reach the level of the absurd. It is time for all of this hyper-sensitivity to end. Personally I am politically incorrect and proud, but I am one of those evil Republican white male Christians who need to be feared. My wife however thinks I am a little fuzz ball.
