LSU 16 Alabama 13

Saturday afternoon Alabama and LSU fans were treated to a clash of SEC titans. The game was uncertain for a full 4 quarters. At the end of regulation play the score was knotted at 10 to 10. Then in overtime LSU won with a touchdown pass from JeMarcus to Dwayne Brown. Final score LSU 16 Alabama 13.

The game showcased two of the top defenses in the country and SEC. Both teams had SEC title hopes riding on the game. Some said even national championship hopes but I think that is a little much of stretch. The game statistics tell the story.

  • LSU 16 Alabama 20 first downs
  • LSU 275 Alabama 284 total rushing yards
  • LSU 229 Alabama 187 total passing yards
  • LSU 46 Alabama 97 yards rushing
  • LSU 6-64 Alabama 7-54 penalities
  • LSU 5-15 Alabama 5-17 3rd down conversions
  • LSU 1-1 Alabama 0-1 4 th down conversions
  • 0 turnovers for both teams
  • LSU 28:38 Alabama 31:22 time of possession

LSU chance for another SEC championship is now in their on hands.
