LSU and Auburn entered Saturday's night game in Tigers Stadium as needing a win to have a chance a the SEC West Championship title. This year as last the outcome was uncertain until the last minute or seconds of the game. Last years game all hinged on a point after attempt by Auburn and this years game was determined by a missed field goal in overtime by Auburn's John Vaughn. The outcome might have been different if the game had not been played in "Death Valley.

In order to win the SEC West LSU will need to beat Alabama and win the rest of their games.
