I would like to know your opinions on the following comment. My main critisism of the Bush admin is the out of control spending. I agree with Coburn's comments and am curious if you agree that spending is out of control and this isnt a case of Reaganomics. you should post about it.
"Americans...are getting increasingly angry with out-of-control government spending, waste, fraud, and abuse... It is the sense of increasing disgust about blatant overspending and our ability to make the tough choices people on budgets have to make each and every day... In the State of Washington alone there are 17,590 homeless people, and we are going to take money from Housing and Urban Development and we are going to build a sculpture park. I think that is not the right priority. It may be a good idea, but the priority is certainly out of line with what the fiscal needs are, and certainly out of line with the expectations of the American people on how we are spending their money... I also remind our fellow Members [of Congress] that if you read the Constitution, there are great difficulties—regardless of what our history has been—justifying, looking at the Constitution and saying this is a role for the Federal Government... It is probably a great project, but not now, not at this time, and not with Federal money." —Sen. Tom Coburn
I agree Federal spending is out of control. There is certainly enough blame to go around from the President to Congress. The war has had an impact but there is certainly enough "PORK' to cut.
If you want to write something up I will post it a guest post. Hope things are going well. Glad you are reading the blog. You are one of the few. Paige thinks it is so queer that her Dad is into blogging, but that is another reason to do it.
the federal government today granted $36,000 to Kentucky bingo halls for security. Aparently there is an imminent threat that terrorists might win a lot of money by playing bingo. This was the top story on the CNBC this morning.
and i would write something up but i am currently writing an article for the OSU newspaper defending "Big Oil" and their profits.
