The Wrong Question

I was watching Fox News this morning and E. D. Hill asked a former ambassador to the middle east if the war in Iraq was creating more terrorist. That is like looking at the glass as half empty rather than half full. It is simply the wrong question. What should have been asked was "is the growing democracy in Iraq creating a growing desire for freedom in the region.

Even the terrorist in Iraq know that freedom is the greatest threat to their desire to dominate the region and end the existence of Isreal. Freedom is an innate desire in all people. This is proven by the images of the "purple fingers" of proud Iraqi's shown in their last two elections.

The current regimes in countires like Syria and Iran can not allow democracy in Iraq to flourish, that is the greatest threat to their existence. So they have become the "de facto" sponsors of terrorism in the middle east. In the human spirit freedom triumphs tyranny everytime.

The US and the Iraqi people have established the first "beach head" in the spread of democracy in the middle east. Therefore I would say that the question that Ms. Hill should have asked was "are the days of current regimes of tyranny in region numbered".
