LSU Routs Miami Canes in Peach Bowl
The Peach Bowl was sweet for LSU fans as the Tigers rout the Miami Hurricanes 40 to 03. This was Miami's worst bowl loss. The LSU offense, lead by Matt Flynn, cut through the venerated Cane defense like a hot knife through butter.
Flynn and the Tiger offense scored on eight straight possessions starting with with a field goal in the first quarter. Flynn completed 13 of 22 passes for 196 yards, two touchdown passes, no interceptions and was selected offensive MVP. Not bad for a first start.
Joseph Addai, LSU tailback, ran for a 130 yards and a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass to add to the Canes' misery. Jacob Hester, LSU fullback, rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown to round out the effort.
- Total yards rushing: LSU 468, Miami 153
- First Downs: LSU 26, Miami 6
- Time of Possession: LSU 39:08, Miami 20:52
The Tigers looked well coached and played with more discipline than they have all season. Good job Coach Miles and Team.
